Sanga Ono Kyoto Shinmachi Bettei
Shinmachi-dori Street, steeped in rich history, has flourished as one of Kyoto’s central streets since the Heian period. It was renamed under Toyotomi Hideyoshi’s urban reconstruction project, Tensho no Jiwari (land allotment system during the Tensho period). The place is also famous as a Yamabokocho (towns with floats) and for the spectacular Gion Matsuri Festival. We hope to capture the splendor and enthusiasm of the festival in our food.
